How will ParentAlert help our school?
Cut costs and save paper from messages going out. You are able to send text/ picture messages and email messages to parents to notify them of anything happening in the school. This makes the school “instantly connected” to the Parents of children attending their school. Whether it’s day to day events or an emergency, ParentAlert will contact parents quickly and efficiently. The e-Kid is compatible with Parent Alert and will allow the community to search for a child in minutes instead of hours. In addition to the ability to notify parents, ParentAlert provides a way for the school to raise money by enlisting local business sponsors.

What is ParentAlert?
It is a web-based messaging system given to schools to be “instantly connected’ to parents. You can send out text messages and emails to parents on anything, including notice of report cards, classroom reminders, and in the case of an emergency, and E-Kid Alert.
With this system you are able to create groups for all levels throughout the school to send specific messages. It is easy to navigate throughout the website and messaging is instantaneous.

How do I register for ParentAlert?
To register your school, go to www.ParentAlert.net and click LOG IN on the right side of the screen. Since you are new, click New User to register. Fill out all required information and submit. A temporary password will be sent to the email you provided and you are able to sign on for the first time.

What do I need to run ParentAlert?
You will need an internet connection to the computer you want to run it on, since it is completely web based.

How do I get reports?
To create a report you will need to enter in the dates in which you want the report run for, then export and either open or save it. You will need Microsoft Excel to view your report.

How do we send out e-Kid ID’s?
In the case of an emergency, an e-Kid can be sent out to inform the school’s parents of your missing child. This will have more eyes open and a greater chance of finding your child. Please contact your local police department first, and then e-mail the e-Kid from your phone to a school email. From the email, save the e-Kid on your computer and send it as a message through Parent Alert’s messaging center.

What is necessary from parents?
Parents should provide their email and cell phone number and carrier. If they do not want to provide certain information then they are able to provide either/ or.

What are the file specifications for uploading multiple contacts at a time?
They must be saved in a CSV file format with the correctly labeled headers, and all fields must be filled in. The headers are: FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, CELL PHONE, CELL PROVIDER, EMAIL.
